Education is a priority in Goodyear.


Higher Education

Goodyear welcomed its first private institution of post-secondary education to the community in 2008, Franklin Pierce University from New Hampshire. In June 2009, Franklin Pierce began their Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program in Goodyear. Franklin Pierce's Goodyear center also offers a series of online undergraduate and graduate programs.

The presence of this private university represents the culmination of a concerted effort by the Goodyear City Council and staff to bring smaller, private schools of higher education to Goodyear to round out our quality of life and fill an educational niche that is lacking in Arizona.

Arizona State University, a world-renowned institution, leads the valley in higher education especially with its College of Health Solutions, Schools of Engineering and Bio Design Institute

Additionally, the Maricopa Community College system has an outstanding record of working closely with business and industry to help companies build custom training programs.

Local area institutions for higher learning include: Estrella Mountain Community College (part of Maricopa Community College system), Arizona State University-West Campus, University of Phoenix, Midwestern University, Thunderbird School of Global Management, Keller Graduate School of Management, Western International University, Grand Canyon University and University of Arizona - Phoenix College of Medicine, AT Still University of Health Sciences, and Argosy University each providing a variety of accelerated academic and occupational programs.

Unmanned Vehicle University (UVU) is the leading university in unmanned aerial vehicle and drone training. UVU operates and branch extension at the Phoenix-Goodyear Airport.

Commercial Divers International (CDI) a commercial diving school offers training in the commercial dive industry and covers skills such as topside and underwater welding, seamanship and rigging, hyperbaric chamber operations, surface supplied air and mixed gas diving, under water tools and more. The CDI campus features three 21,000 gallon tanks, where students can learn the fundamentals of commercial diving in safe and state-of-the art facility.

Additionally, Park University located at Luke AFB, is a four-year institution that provides reduced tuition to military members, their dependents as well as civilians living in the surrounding communities and offers programs in Computer Science, Data Management, Network & Security, and Software Engineering.


Elementary and High School Education

Four elementary school districts serve Goodyear with a total of 12 schools and two high school districts cover Goodyear with three schools.

Estrella Foothills High School is recognized nationally by U.S. News & World Report on their list of “Best High Schools”. 
Millennium High School boasts several National Merit Semi-Finalists along with appointments to military academies.

New Schools in Goodyear!

BASIS Charter School, Great Hearts Academies and Las Brisas Academy have opened for the  2015-2016 school year.

BASIS Charter School regularly ranks among the highest-scoring schools in the state and its curriculum designed to put students a year ahead and prepare them for higher education.

Great Hearts Academies is a leading provider of a classical, liberal arts education and is Arizona’s largest not-for-profit charter school network.

Las Brisas Academy is the newest elementary in a growing portfolio of World Class Schools in the Liberty Elementary School District that will expand Liberty's offerings and provide opportunities for students in the areas of Visual/Performing Arts and Dual Language Immersion with both Spanish and English.



West-MEC is a public high school district that prepares students for the future and contribute to Arizona’s economy with practical education courses with key industry areas of focus. West-MEC serves more than 24,000 students across 46 high schools.
